The South Williamsport Education Foundation’s goal of strengthening the quality of the South Williamsport school district is achieved in part through grants to teachers and students for innovative educational opportunities. In awarding grants, the Foundation seeks projects or programs that meet the following criteria:

  • Affect as many students as possible and benefit a diverse student group
  • Involve students as much as possible
  • Supplement and/or enhance the standard curriculum and traditional teaching methods
  • Support a program or project with measurable results
  • Inspire, create and innovate
  • Promote inter-classroom, interdisciplinary and/or joint teacher projects

 

Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Grants

The Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) is a administered by the pennsylvania department of Community and Economic Development, the program awards tax credits to businesses that make contributions to approved educational improvement organizations such as the South Williamsport Education Foundation.

Pennsylvania businesses can begin applying for EITC credits through DCED’s electronic single application system. DCED will no longer require applicants to mail the signed signature page.

 

The business application guide explains the process of applying. Tax credit applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis by day submitted. All applications received on a specific day will be processed on a random basis before moving on to the next day’s applications. Applications will be approved until the amount of available tax credits is exhausted.

The funds for these grants were made possible from the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania through EITC donations from Woodlands Bank & C & N Bank.

Inspire Grant

The Inspire Grant was introduced in 2019 to fund innovative and inspiring projects that will directly impact students and help prepare them to become successful in life as well as make a difference in our community.

 

The Inspire Grant awards unrestricted grants for the most innovative and inspiring projects put forth by faculty (individually or in groups) AND/OR student organizations (club, athletic team, individual or group of friends).
